Jibola Toriola, popularly known as Jibola Jasper, was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria.
Jhybo started rapping and singing at the age of 10. From his early years until now, he has built up an impressive catalogue of work. A gifted and thoughtful rapper with a great sense of humor, this often comes through in his music. One of his most well-known sayings/chants is “Be Naa Ni”, meaning “That’s just the way it is.”
Jhybo is widely recognized as an indigenous rapper, predominantly performing in his local dialect. With his unique style and authenticity, he has amassed a large fan base, especially after releasing the popular track “They Just Dey Run Their Mouth,” which featured the talented artist Cynthia Morgan.
Shortly after, Jhybo embarked on a solo mission, releasing a number of independently funded singles — including "Over," "Money Sure Pass," "Rotate" — and also featured on tracks with several other artists.
In June 2014, Jhybo founded Lima Sound, an independent label (which stands for Living In Movement Always), following his split from former label Bay Productions. He then toured from place to place to fully embark on his solo career and showcase his creative talents.
