Tekno was born in Bauchi State into a family with six children. Due to his father's career in the Nigerian Army, Tekno moved frequently and lived in various parts of Nigeria, including Nassarawa, Kaduna, and Abuja. He began learning the piano and guitar at the age of 8, showing an early passion for music.

He attended music school as a child, where he honed his musical skills and learned how to play multiple instruments.

Breakthrough

Tekno was discovered by Nigerian comedian Julius Agwu in 2012, after performing at a music event in Abuja. Shortly after, he was signed to K-Money Entertainment, where he released his first single “Holiday” featuring Davido — the track gained modest attention.

Rise to Fame

Tekno rose to prominence in 2013 after signing with Made Men Music Group (Triple MG), owned by Ubi Franklin and Iyanya. His breakthrough single “Duro” (2015) became a massive hit in Nigeria and across Africa, earning him international recognition.
