‘He Was My Very Positive Neighbour’ – Tinubu Meets Old Friend From Chicago University

Leader Bola Tinubu has met an old friend from Chicago State University, Alex Sigman, who hailed from Belarus.

Naija Report reports that the duo met on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the inauguration of tractors in Abuja.

While standing for recognition at the event, Leader Tinubu addressed Sigman as a successful businessman from Belarus.

Tinubu stated Sigman was his neighbour when he was schooling in the United States, and they never expected to see themselves in the position they are nowadays, adding that their institution would be proud of the moment.

He stated, “My dear very positive friend, the story must be clear here.

Alex Sigman, howe are you.

Thank you and congratulation.

When we were together at Chicago STate University, he was my very positive neighbour.

“Neither did we preempt that I will be the Leader of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, nor did we see Sigman as a successful businessman willing to bring a bilateral relationship that will promote economic prosperity that will benefit our two countries.

“Thank you Alex, I believe our university will be proud of us nowadays.” Meanwhile, former governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido, has alleged that Leader Bola Tinubu was among those who supported the annulment of the June 12, 1993, presidential election.

Addressing during an appearance on Arise TV on Saturday, Lamido alleged that Tinubu’s mother, Hajia Mogaji, organised market women from Lagos to come to Abuja and show aid for the then head of state, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

He scolded the Leader for what he described as dramatising his role in Nigeria’s Democracy, insisting that Tinubu only became relevant after late General Sani Abacha took over authority.

Lamido additionally claimed that the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), was formed to fight for Abacha and not for June 12.
