
Police launch probe into alleged killing of Kaduna resident by JTF
The Kaduna State Police Leadership has launched an investigation into the death of a 27-year-old man, Ibrahim Jibril, additionally known as Abba, who was allegedly beaten to death by operatives of a local Joint Task Force, JTF, in the Sabon Garin Tudun Wada area of the state.
The incident, which reportedly occurred in the early hours of Saturday, June 29, was brought to citizenry attention by protection analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the situation via a post on his verified X account.
According to the report, Jibril was allegedly arrested and assaulted by JTF operatives led by a man identified simply as Ali, popularly known as Officer.
The Chief Imam of Faskari Close, Ibrahim Imam, was stated to have informed a community elder, Ibrahim Zuntu, that the young man had sustained severe injuries while in custody.
Upon receiving the alert around 7:00 a.m., the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, reportedly dispatched a patrol team to the scene.
Police sources revealed that the victim was found with life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
The body was later released to the family for burial after they declined an autopsy in line with Islamic customs.
Police stated those connected to the assault had fled the area, but a manhunt was underway to apprehend the suspects.
“An investigation into the suspected case of criminal plot and culpable homicide is ongoing,” a police source stated.
