Turji Reportedly Kills 44 Protection Personnel In Zamfara Ambush

Notorious bandit kingpin, Bello Turji, has reportedly carried out a deadly ambush near Shinkafi Local Administration Area of Zamfara State, leaving no fewer than 44 protection operatives dead, including 40 members of the Joint Task Force (JTF) and four Nigerian soldiers.

Naija Report reports that the attack, which occurred earlier this week, is one of the deadliest assaults on protection personnel in the North-West region in recent times.

Details of the attack were shared via a post on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) by a prominent protection analyst known as Bakatsine.

“Bello Turji reportedly lost their life 40 JTF members and four soldiers near Shinkafi LGA, Zamfara State, burning a military vehicle,” Bakatsine wrote on Tuesday.

According to the post, the assailants additionally set fire to a military vehicle during the coordinated ambush, which caught protection forces off guard.

In a further chilling situation, Turji is stated to have released a video showing the execution of a former bandit, identified as Bashari Maniya, who was allegedly lost their life for collaborating with protection agencies after abandoning his life of crime.

The video, which circulated on social media platforms, demonstrates Turji accusing Maniya of becoming an informant and betraying fellow attackers.

Naija Report understands that the Nigerian military has declared Turji wanted for numerous attacks in the country.
